    Hello Everyone-
As I am sure you know, the recent storms have created a great need for
    veterinary services in impacted areas.
Thank you to all of you who have been helping those in need.
This request came from Windi Wojdak at HSVMA and I thought it
    appropriate to pass along:

    Hi All--

HSUS is looking to identify equine veterinarians who might be willing
and able to deploy to the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico, should the
need arise. There is a large population of free-roaming horses there
    (http://www.humanesociety.org/news/magazines/2017/05-06/hsus-puerto-rico-horses.html)
that we are concerned may be in dire need of assistance after the storm
passes, and very few local practitioners who will be available to help
them. HSUS is monitoring the situation closely, and may be putting out
a call over the coming days to deploy a team of equine veterinary
experts to provide veterinary care to the island’s horses. HSUS would
cover travel costs for anyone willing to volunteer their time and
expertise, help with establishing temporary licensing, etc. For
additional information/if you would be interested in assisting please
contact Inga Fricke as soon as possible at ifricke@humanesociety.org.
    Thank you!
